Earlier in the year, I had repurposed wooden boards from old wine crates to make a drinks dispenser.
I was really happy with how it looked. But, I realised that I didn’t actually need it! I made it more as a design feature really. So, after a few months of virtually no use at all (I don’t really drinks spirits), I decided to repurpose it into something else.
I really liked the Jameson’s logo on the boards. I felt like this had quite a nice character to it. So, I had the idea of turning it into a small coffee table.
By removing the drinks dispensers, I would have a nice small table top to work with. With half of the job already done, all I needed was some legs. I bought some nice metal legs from B&Q. These would give the table some extra style.
So, I set to work. Fortunately, there wasn’t much to do! I filled in the holes that had been left by the drinks dispenser attachments with some wood filler.
I then had to make sure that the legs were able to screw into the table top without going through the top surface layer. This was just a case of using some screws small enough, yet still providing enough stability.
For future reference this could be made more stable by adding a layer of plywood in between the table top and the legs. For the time being, I didn’t feel like this was necessary.
After attaching the legs, that was pretty much it! It was a really quick and easy job that gave me an extra small coffee table.
The stencil on top of the wooden boards add a stylish bit of character to it. It looked good next to the fireplace with a plant as decoration on top.

This was a good project to repurpose something that wasn’t being used. It has also helped to create another unique piece of furniture.
Overall, the only cost associated with this was the legs and a few screws from my local hardware shop. I decided to spend a bit more than I usually would on the legs. They are of high quality and provide a really solid base. The total cost for two metal legs was £25.99.
